You have both 'NetworkManager' and 'network' enabled and running and you seem to have lost your DNS server entries from /etc/resolv.conf. It's a good idea to pick one of NetworkManager or network and disable the other (most people, especially with servers, tend to choose to use network and not NM). Once you've turned off NM, you probably need to manually fix /etc/resolv.conf to contain valid nameserver lines. With no name servers any attempt to ssh to the machines will hang for about 30 seconds or so as it tries to reverse lookup the IP address that you're coming from. You obviously need one of NetworkManager or network enabled. The default sshd configuration is to perform reverse lookups on the IP addresses of anyone connecting to it.

With a misconfigured set of nameservers this will hang until it times out. You can disable it by using UseDNS no in /etc/ssh/sshdconfig.Otherwise I'm not entirely sure of the problem that you are seeing so perhaps you can try to explain it again in different words? Are you saying that after some period of time, you are unable to ssh into the machine but that a ping from the machine itself to the default gateway fixes this and brings it back up with no other intervention? If so then I'd be tempted to look at the possibility that you have duplicate IP addresses inside your network as the ping will let the gateway arp cache know that it's there. Well, TrevorH thanks for your help, I have some results,I logged in to the switch, which is Alcatel 6250, with network administrator, and we saw that the mobile on all ports that is enabled, when I plugged in the cable on port 23 the switch changes the vlan on port 23 from vlan 1 to VLAN 80. When I have the problem timeouts when I see in which vlan is the port on the switch (port 23) I see that the port does not belong to VLAN 80 that transfered before but only to default 1. So we changed the port settings (port 23) to not mobile and default to 80.
Now it seemes that is working. I;ll post if no network timeouts tommorow, It is very strange because on this switch are working all of our servers and about 50 clients with no problem. Also 1 week before the post I also changed the network card a tplink with the sames problems.

I am attempting to use Acronis Backup and Recovery with Universal Restore to restore and Windows 2003 image to a Dell R710. The restore is successful however, the universal restore does not properly install the Broadcom 5709C or the Intel 5500 chipset drivers.I have attempted to use every possible driver I can find without success.
Has anyone else had the same issue and have you overcome it?After windows starts, I can install the network driver manually and one thing to note is that it prompts to install the driver even though it is not digitally signed. I suspect that UR is not installing it because it is not digitally signed. Does anyone know if a signed driver for the 5709C network card exists?Lastly, I can install the system interrupt controller (342e) within windows after it boots using the Intel 5500 driver. I do receive warnings after the image restore is complete that contains some messages regarding NODRV. I attempted to set the registry permissions, recreate and restore the image as I found in another post in the forum but that did not work. I suspect that it has something to do with the following line I found in a 5500 driver file:%PCIVEN8086&DEV342e.DeviceDesc%=NODRVDoes anyone have some insight or guidance? I can attach screen shots and the log file if it would be helpful.
Hello Rob!Welcome to our Forum, we're glad you joined us! I completely understand your concern and will be glad to assist you.I regret to inform you that network card drivers are not supposed to get installed during the process of restoring with Acronis Universal Restore.
In order to successfully restore the system we advise to specify only mass storage device drivers (chipset, RAID/SCSI controller.). The best way to obtain the drivers we would advise you to contact the vendor of the hardware.NODRV error indicates that Acronis Universal Restore cannot find the required driver. If you could specify to me the entire error, I could try to identify what driver of what hardware it needs.I would also suggest you to take a look at the which contains step-by-step screenshots, you may find it useful.Should you need anything else or have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you! Yana,Thank you for your response. My confusion about the network drivers comes from the universal restore screen as it states that it will search for mass storage and network drivers.
Please see my attached screen shot taken from the image in section 12 of the guide you suggested above. I would love to have all the drivers installed because it would greatly simplify my disaster recovery plan.As for the Intel 5500 drivers, I have attached the Acronis log file and a screen shot for the driver after it is installed in Windows. If you have an article that explains the driver selection process, it might help me understand what I might be doing wrong.
The errors are not clear to me and Acronis does not seem to log the steps with much detail.I have attempted to use drivers from here: and from the Dell support site however the result has been the same.Thank you again for your assistance.
